I'm pregnant. Shoot me now.

Yeah. I guess I jinxed myself when I kept saying we were done having kids. Turns out Heavenly Father had some different plans for us.
We found out we were pregnant about a month ago but we kept it a secret for a while because we were supposed to announce it when my brother came back from his mission on the 25th of this month. Apparently with your second child you start showing a lot earlier, so we had to say something before people thought I was growing a tumor. Our family is thrilled. The only person that isn't happy about this whole thing is me.
Think of the hardest thing you've had to do in your life. Maybe something that you wouldn't dare do because it's just too difficult. That's how I feel about motherhood. Preparing for med school is a BREEZE compared to being a mother. I don't like being pregnant, but it beats having a newborn in the house. I don't deal well with sleep deprivation. I'm gonna need some Valium once this kid comes.
As far as what happened when I found out... well, I was trying to rule out pregnancy with a pregnancy test so I could call my doctor to test me for hypothyroidism: I was tired, gained weight, and missed my period. Yeah, didn't make that phone call. I FREAKED OUT, and Jacen came in to see what was going on... I kept saying, "Oh no, Jacen, oh no... oh no... oh no...." I waited until Elijah came home from work to tell him. I had Jacen write him a card saying something along the lines of "I'm sure you'll be a great daddy to my little brother and sister". Elijah laughed for a straight ten minutes... apparently he laughed for 2 hours (I had to leave for work).
Some stats: I'm 9 weeks pregnant, due Jan. 12th. So overjoyed by the thought that it's going to be RSV season. *sigh* And school starts, like, on the 10th. Not sure how I'm gonna pull that off, but I've had a kid through finals, so I'll probably figure something out with this one as well. I've been sick like a dog, but nothing that Phenergan can't do. I've been very fatigued (this is a new symptom for me, last time I didn't have this) as well. It just plain sucks.
Not gonna lie: I'm TERRIFIED of having two kids; I'm already overwhelmed with one. Sign me up for a tubal on D-day.

Lord help me.

He will help you! If there is one thing I KNOW, that is that when Heavenly Father hands you something you didn't want to do, or didnt want to go through,He will find a way to support you and carry you through it. It will be a blessing in many ways, and I think over time you will start to see some of the joy through the shock that everyone else is finding. It will be hard, how could it not be, but it will also make you stronger and bless your life... if you let it. I'll be praying for you and for a healthy little one. He or She will be lucky to have such an ambitious, loving and compassionate mother like you are. Jacen too!

Silvia! I'm excited and terrified for you at the same time. I know how much you have struggled with everything already on your plate. But you are amazing. Really amazing. And like you said, you'll figure something out with this one. Jacen is obviously a happy boy so you have obviously done something right with him and I know you will love your next one just as much. If he's half as cute as Jacen, how could you not! :) I wish there was something I could do to lighten your load. I am stressed out myself with school and work and I don't have a family to worry about. But you have proven yourself time and again and I know you will do it with this baby, too!! Congrats! :)

Oh sweety, my heart goes out to you more then you know. But you are never given anything that you can not handle. You will do great. You are a wonderful mom to Jacen and this baby will be just the same. Plus apperantly Heavenly Father only sends them in twos to us for a reason. They are just ment to be good friends and playmates. It will be rough but you are a wondermom and can do it.

We had two (out of three) God planned pregnancies, and looking back, it was a blessing. Our first was a mere 4 months after we had our first child. We must have cried for months, but now we wouldn't have it any other way. They were the best of friends growing up and still are today at 16 & 17. It's hard at first - having two little ones, but they will play together and it will make a difference having Jacen as a big helper. I wish you a healthy pregnancy. I can't imagine going to school, never-the-less Med school, while expecting, but in a few years you'll look back and wonder how it passed so quickly.
