Elijah and I had planned to go to a movie (that's because we have free movie tickets, otherwise there was no way we could do it) yesterday afternoon while my mom watched Jacen for us. We figured we'd go in the afternoon after I woke up because I had worked the whole night before.
So as I was leaving the hospital that morning, I was crossing the street to get to the parking lot, and it was snowing. As soon as I was about to step onto the sidewalk, I slipped (mind you, both my legs left the ground at that terrifying moment), and fell HARD on my bottom. My backpack was probably the only thing that saved me from getting knocked out and getting a broken tailbone.
I tried to get up on my own but I was in too much pain to do it myself, and turns out there was NO ONE leaving the hospital at that time, so I layed there and cried for a few minutes, while the snow accumulated on my face. Eventually a good samaritan that was driving down the street saw me laying on the gutter and stopped to help me up. I praised the heavens!
Because I couldn't sit down for the rest of the day, we didn't go on a date :( I spent most of the day in bed hurting. But it felt better to stand, so I decided to make Hawaiian Meatballs on Rice for dinner, and it was very yummy (thanks to Nikki's recipe)! And then after we put Jacen to bed, we watched Wall-E. What a cute movie!
We sure hope everyone else had a better Valentine's Day than we did- mine was partly spent in the gutter.

Thats sucks!! That darn snow, see just one more reason why spring needs to come.
Silvia that sucks that you fell. I hope that you are feeling batter. Our Valentines wasn't all that great either!
Oh Silvia, I'm sorry you were like literally in the gutter! That is no fun. But it sounds like it didn't turn out to be so bad of a day in the end. Last year I was sick on Valentines Day so Denis made me soup and we just watched a movie at his apartment and it was still a great Valentines! Hawaiian Meatballs on Rice sounds really good, you should post the recipe;) Or I can just get it this weekend.
Wow, Silvia. I'm so sorry, but I was laughing my rear- end off reading about your Valentines in the "Gutter." I'm sure it was not funny at all while it was happening, but Jeremy and I sure got a good laugh out of it. What happened to your rear-end that you couldn't sit for a long time? That really sucks; we are so sorry for you!
Oh honey... I am soo sorry! I would've totally helped you up because I would've been walking out with you! However I would have to compose myself to help you up.. So not funny but really it is! Love you!
I am so sorry you fell in the gutter, that sucks. I hope you are feeling better. I'm glad you still had a fun Valentines Day though.
Oh man your story made my day. I did that too on Valentines except for I did it later in the night. I was walking onto an elevator at a hotel to go swimming and had bare feet on a wet elevator floor and BAM! right on my butt. I'm still in pain. So be glad to know you aren't the only one!
That sucks! I think I would have been happy no one saw me because my embarrassment would have been my worse pain. I hope your feeling better.
Again, I apologize for laughing as you told me that story. Hopefully karma won't bite me in the butt cause it still makes me laugh when I think about it! (you should've posted a pic of your lovely bruise)
Sister Sylvia,
I am so sorry! If I had been there I would have helped you out! did you tell anybody to ''Kiss your Bum'' better? He he he
That story made me so sad Silvia! I just pictured you laying on the ground crying! :( I'm sorry you didn't get to go out to a movie, have you been able to use the tickets yet?
Silvia!! What a crappy way to start your Valentine's day!! I wish I would have been there! I would have helped you up of course. But I probably would have started crying too, because that's just how sensitive I am :). You are so awesome that you can write about that in a way that made me laugh my butt off!! I sure miss you and all of our late night laughs!
