We are finally going on vacation at the end of the month!!! I must be dreaming or something because we haven't travelled in AGES. I swear the last time we travelled was when we were still going through an Ice Age... well, really, it was 3 1/2 years ago- I only remember it because we travelled with our good friends Clint and Lisa to southern CA for our 1st anniversary and stayed with Elijah's parents. They always provide room and board for us whenever we get away, and this time, we're going to stay with them in Washington DC!!! I'm so thrilled! And the best thing: we'll be there for the 4th of July! There is no better place in the country to be at than there!
There was absolutely NO WAY I was going to fork out $300-400 per plane ticket to travel, and it just happened the other day Travelocity had tickets for $148/ticket so I snatched them immediately. I was so impressed- I didn't know we could even pick our seats! And knowing me, who has always wanted to be a flight attendant- obviously had to pick window seats for every plane ride. But one day I just may become a flight attendant as a side job, just for the heck of it. I'll be a doctor AND a flight attendant. I love to fly, and hope to do it frequently!
I'm really writing because I am so nervous of flying with Jacen. See, I'm a cheapskate when it comes to money and it was cheaper to take Jacen on our lap, so I didn't buy a seat for him. Which means he'll be grumpy. And our flight between Dallas and DC will be really long and will only arrive at 1am, and I'm not really sure what to do about him sleeping. Or entertainment for him. So I ask: has anyone ever travelled with a 1 yr old? And what did you do for entertainment? I'm taking any tips, including names of drugs to give him to make him sleep- ok, ok, I'm just kidding, I don't know whether or not I'd go that far, but if anyone knows of anything let me know!!!

K in all seriousness, and obviously I have never tried this myself, but I have heard of people using Benadryl. But I don't know if people really do it or not.
Anyways, I am so so happy for you guys! And oh man I am so jealous that you get to be in DC for the 4th of July. That is going to be so amazing! Congrats, you guys are well deserved.
I traveled to Boston myself with jack when he was just barley 1. I took our laptop and baby Einstein dvds. I also brought all of his fav. books and lots of snacks. I also bought him a new toy and gave it to him on the plane, that way he had something new and exciting to do. Dress him in something comfy. Also, you can call ahead and see if the flight is full and if not they can get him a seat and you can bring on his car seat.
We are flying to NC in July with both kids, we had to buy jack a ticket, so he will have a seat, but I am so nervous to do it with two kids. Good Luck!
My brother and sister in law brought their first born here from Denmark when she was 1... they used Benadryl a couple times throught the trip (17 hour flight). Partly to help her sleep but also to keep her ears and everything comfortable.

Obviamente, vc não deve lembrar quando viajamos com vc e o Victor, pqnos. Principalmente depois de descobrir que vc enjoava.... hahahaha. simples: Dramin - se vc não sabe o que é, é para motion sickness! Funciona bem! E para mantê-lo ocupado: revictas e papéis que ele possa destruir! hahahaha. É legal ver vc com estas preocupações. Façam uma boa viagem, aproveitem as férias e fiquem bem. Amor, Papai.
